Coronavirus update: Nigeria records its first death to coronavirus

A report made this morning according to the National Centre for Disease Control, Abuja has it that as at 10:35 a.m today, 23rd March, 2020, Nigeria has 5 new confirmed cases reported and recorded its first death from coronavirus. The following is the breakdown of the total confirmed cases, active cases, total already discharged and total number of death. Total confirmed cases: 36 Active cases: 33 Total discharged: 2 Total deaths: 1 The first Covid-19 death in Nigeria was a 67 year old male who returned home from the United Kingdom after a medical treatment. He was known to have suffered from underlying medical conditions of multiple myeloma and diabetes and was undergoing chemotherapy. Breaking: Atiku Abubarka's son tests positive to coronavirus

It has been confirmed that former vice president of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubarka's son has tested positive to coronavirus. The former vice president shared the incidence late last night on his Twitter handle about the confirmation of his son's test result, and that necessary actions had been taken to report the case to the National Centre for Disease Control. He also put it that the victim has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital, Abuja for treatment and management. He also solicit for our prayers for the quick recovery of the son. He said " "My son has tested positive to coronavirus. @NCDCGov has been duly informed, and he has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital in Abuja for treatment and management.
