Muhammadu Buhari orders immediate payment of 2 months conditional cash transfers for most vulnerable citizens
By: Niyi Adegbaju On Wednesday, 29th March 2020, the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari gave a public address on the pandemic disease covid-19, currently ravaging the citizens of Nigeria. As of today, the total confirmed cases of coronavirus stood at 143 out of which 2 are dead and 9 recovered. The President from his address ordered immediate payment of two months for the poorest and most vulnerable citizens. He said: "Based on the advice of the Federal Ministry of Health and the NCDC, I am directing the cessation of all movements in Lagos and the FCT for an initial period of 14 days with effect from 11pm on Monday, 30th March 2020. This restriction will also apply to Ogun State due to its close proximity to Lagos and the high traffic between the two States. "All citizens in these areas are to stay in their homes.
